Bilge Water Monitoring
The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution From Ships (MARPOL 73/78) states that bilge water should not be directly pumped out into the sea. For this reason, bilge water is first passed through an oil/water separator where the level of suspended oil is significantly reduced. When the oil-in-water concentration comes down to the permissible limit (some ppm), it is allowed to be thrown overboard when the ship is en route. The ERACHECK product family helps to monitor bilge water emission on site on a regular basis to be in compliance with environmental regulations.
